BharatSthali
BharatSthali was founded in late 2017 by husband-and-wife duo Sumati and Pulkit Gogna, who stepped away from an established family business with 40 lakh rupees in capital, determined to revive pure silk and Kanjivaram sarees at a time when handloom felt like it was being forgotten. Their focus from the start was reviving the weavers’ livelihoods as much as the craft itself, treating steady, fair-paid work for artisans as central to the brand rather than a side effect of it.
The Chandigarh-based brand sources directly from artisan communities across India, Kanchipuram for Kanjivaram silk, Pollachi in Coimbatore, Bhagalpur and Madhubani in Bihar, and Banaras, and has grown from two weavers to a network of more than 5,000.
