Bunaai was founded in 2016 by Pari Choudhary, who launched the brand from Jaipur with a collection of just 13 dresses sold online. An Instagram following of over 105,000 gave her the initial push, and the whole first collection sold out within a week. Pari invested her early earnings into sewing machines and two tailors to keep going.

The brand is built around block printing on cotton, chanderi, and silk, majority hand-dyed, hand-block printed, and hand-painted, blending Rajasthan’s craft traditions with contemporary cuts.
