Pothys

Pothys was founded in 1923 by K.V. Pothy Moopanar in Srivilliputhur, Tamil Nadu. He came from a family of traditional weavers. He started by selling cotton sarees and dhotis woven on his own loom.
His son later rebranded and expanded the business under the name Pothys, opening a proper retail showroom in 1977. The family has run it across three generations since. Pothys now operates more than 20 stores across South India and has launched its own exclusive silk saree lines, Samudrika, Parampara, and Vastrakala.
