Soch launched in 2005 from a single store in Bengaluru’s Forum Mall, but the family behind it had been in the Bangalore garment trade for far longer. Founder Vinay Chatlani is a third-generation retailer; his grandfather and father ran Favourite Shop on Commercial Street starting in 1951, decades before Soch itself existed.
