My Favorite Indian Ethnic Wear Brand: BIBA

I’m a huge BIBA fan.

My love for BIBA started quite unexpectedly/accidentally while on a shopping spree with my mother. We were hunting for classy yet fresh Indian ethnic wear in bright colours for a family occasion. And then we came across a BIBA clothing brand store. The bold prints, beautiful colours and trendy designs instantly caught my attention. My mother urged me to try some outfits. My eyes were stuck on a beautiful maroon flower-print dress. The moment I put it on, I loved how comfortable and stylish it made me feel. It wasn’t just about buying another outfit; it was about the happiness and confidence I felt wearing a BIBA dress.

Over time, I began exploring more of BIBA Indian clothing collection. I admire how the brand carefully designs every piece, blending traditional Indian craftsmanship with contemporary fashion. I have extensively worn BIBA outfits for many years. From wearing BIBA kurta sets in the office to adorning its intricate jewelery on special occasions. I love their ethnic suits, especially Anarkali sets. Essentially, BIBA has become my go-to Indian clothes for women whenever I want to feel effortlessly fashionable.

That’s how BIBA clothing went from being a brand I discovered while shopping to becoming my all-time favourite!

There are some brands which bring back memories of home, no matter how far you live. For many women, BIBA women’s clothing is one of them. It’s been a familiar name in the Indian ethnic fashion scene for decades. Whether it’s Diwali celebrations, Durga Puja, a family wedding, or simply a day you feel like dressing up in ethnic wear, BIBA Indian ethnic wear will certainly be on the shopping list.

Founded by Meena Bindra in 1988, the word BIBA literally means ‘pretty woman.’ What began with salwar kameez and dupatta grew into a favourite ethnic wear label for women.  BIBA’s range of silhouettes offers a myriad of options for women who prefer dresses with a mix of comfort and style in an affordable price range.

BIBA’s Appeal: Its Collection

One of the things I admire about BIBA Indian wear for women is the variety. Its collections include office formals, everyday kurtas, designer ethnic wear, glamorous wedding outfits, beautiful jewellery, modern handbags and magnetic fragrances. And they have a theme for each of their collection. Its kurta sets range from classic straight kurtas with palazzos, the A-line gorgeous Anarkali suits, the chic short kurtis, colourful jackets and shrugs, and feminine scarves.

BIBA women’s clothing have a palette of every colour possible, with motifs and prints having larger-than-life Indian influences. My favourite are the florals, leaf, and phulkari-inspired prints. The smaller detailing, like mirror work, intricate embroidery and cute crochet work, is what makes the brand stand out. The whole appeal of BIBA salwar suits lies in its myriad of colour and pattern combinations. My favourite piece when going out with friends is its A-line kurti with a bolero jacket infused with paisley print worn over my blue jeans. My friends always gape in awe when I wear it. Stylish and Pretty! And the best part is that it suits my budget.

Shopping for BIBA from Overseas

For South Asian women living in Australia, the US or the UK, shopping for Indian ethnic wear online can make you a bit apprehensive. You might have doubts regarding the fabric, sizing, delivery and returns. Nobody wants to spend an entire wedding adjusting an uncomfortable outfit.

One challenge with Indian clothes online shopping is that you cannot physically feel the fabric or know the exact fit before ordering it. Also, there is a drawback to spending hours browsing and shopping across multiple websites.

It’s where SASTY comes in. It makes discovery of Indian fashion brands in Australia easier if you’re living away from South Asia. You can search for BIBA alongside other Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi fashion labels. You can compare different brands and collections for Indian ethnic wear in Australia, all in one place.

And if you can’t go to the physical shop, don’t worry. SASTY’s virtual try-on feature will assist you in making the right shopping decision. With this feature, you can preview how an outfit might look on you before deciding what to purchase. You can then buy directly from the brand’s own website.

Though you may be miles away, SASTY brings the best of Indian clothes for women closer to home.

For me, BIBA is not just fashion; it is a complete lifestyle.
